Dr. Barrett has been interested in Eastern medicine since her teenage years, when she observed the remarkable work of a Chinese medicine doctor named Ty Lam. Dr. Lam, in one treatment with acupuncture and herbs, provided tremendous relief for her mother and father. In seeking out further knowledge in this medicine, she was fortunate to study at length with many world-renowned experts and doctors in this medicine, both in the United States and China.
Eastern medicine is an ancient style of holistic, functional medicine which utilizes non-invasive techniques to help patients heal and reduce pain over the long term. The techniques used in this medicine include acupuncture, herbal medicine, auriculotherapy, cupping, guasha, acupressure (tui'na), and moxibustion.
